Annual Ski for Heat Event
Ski — or Snowshoe — for Heat 2012 will take place on Sunday, January 29 at Wild Wings Ski Touring Center in Peru, Vermont.This FUNdraiser benefits the Shareheat fund at BROC, providing heating fuel assistance for local individuals and families who are in need.
There is no trail fee and no registration fee to participate. Chuck and Tracy Black, owners of Wild Wings, have again generously donated the use of their wonderful facility to all Ski (and Snowshoe) for Heat participants. Your donation or the pledges you bring in give you free access to all the scenic trails.
Participants may come and go as their schedules allow (between 9 and 4), and ski or ’shoe for as long or as little as they like; please just check in at the warming hut before hitting the trails. For day-of-event registration, simply see Pam in the warming hut when you first get there. T-shirts will be given to the first 40 people who donate or bring in pledges of $35 or more (either online or on site).
This is a fun day and a fun way for everyone of all ages and of all x-c or snowshoeing ability to help others in the community. If you don’t ski or snowshoe, you are welcome to stop by the beautiful new warming hut to share the goodwill of the day and perhaps a bagel or two!
